It’s a beautiful morning
The KOA here in Idleyld, OR is not the Ritz, what with the dust and having to buy shower water, but it’s not bad. There’s a statewide burn ban and sitting around a cold fire pit isn’t fun, so after Anson, Fran, Marina, and Brittany took a long hike to a waterfall and a detour on the return, we went out to dinner at a nice lakeside lodge on Diamond Lake.
Our original plan had been to visit Crater Lake NP but there’s a huge event there this weekend and everything was crowded and booked. We may see if we can catch a glimpse of the lake this afternoon on the way out of the area. There are vague plans for lake activities today, then we’ll part ways with Brittany, and head south, probably stopping to see the redwoods.
Seniors rock! I bought my Lifetime Pass for $80 at GTNP and saved $35 entrance fee there and $35 at Yellowstone. One more park and it’s paid for itself.
