Death Valley and Zion NP

The view from the camper this morning

From the coast we turned east toward Death Valley and drove until we stopped in a turnout. This is what we woke up to.

Death Valley is absolutely, terribly, magnificent and I’m glad we saw it even if the transmission kept heating up and the air conditioner quit shortly after we left the valley. (There are signs saying to keep the AC off to avoid overheating. We did.) 

The canyons in Arizona and Utah so far are stunning.
